Helping people think well when the stakes are high.
A coach, facilitator and critical friend for individuals, leaders and teams navigating important moments of change, challenge and growth.
Throughout my career, I have been drawn to one question:
How do we help people and organisations understand what is really happening, so they can make better choices about what comes next?
That question has shaped more than 25 years of work across higher education, the voluntary sector and community settings.
Experience shaped by complexity
I have spent my career supporting people through situations where there are rarely simple answers.
As a senior leader in higher education, I worked with individuals, teams and organisations facing significant change, competing priorities and complex challenges.
I have led multidisciplinary teams, developed wellbeing and inclusion strategies, facilitated difficult conversations and supported people through moments where thoughtful decisions and new perspectives were needed.
These experiences have shaped the way I work today.
I understand the reality of responsibility, the challenge of uncertainty and the importance of having someone alongside you who can offer both support and honest challenge.
My approach
I believe people often have more insight and capability than they can access when they are under pressure.
My role is not to provide answers.
It is to create the conditions where better thinking can happen. I bring:
Curiosity
A genuine interest in understanding your situation and what matters most.
Compassion
Recognition that meaningful change happens through understanding, not judgement.
Challenge
The willingness to ask thoughtful questions and explore what may be uncomfortable.
Perspective
The ability to connect the immediate situation with the wider picture.
Qualifications and experience
I bring together:
Over 25 years' experience in leadership, education and community settings
Executive coaching and mentoring practice
Masters in Transformative Practice
ILM Level 7 Executive Coaching and Mentoring studies
Qualified mediator
Extensive experience in facilitation, partnership working and organisational change
My approach combines coaching, facilitation and systems thinking to support thoughtful conversations and meaningful development.
Why Patrwm?
Patrwm is the Welsh word for pattern.
Patterns influence how we think, work, communicate and make decisions.
Sometimes they help us.
Sometimes they limit us.
The purpose of Patrwm is to create the space to notice those patterns, understand them and consider what might be possible when we approach things differently.
